Thank you. I had issues with muddy colors when I tried to upload my childrens book to KDP. The thing I learned is that saving my graphics as a jpg was a problem too. Every time I processed the original jpg scan I lost color. All my scans started out as rbg. So I processed them in photoshop to become cmyk. The illustration was slightly off. Then I made changes to the indesign document which further broke down the colors of the placed jpg. Now I save my original scan as a tiff. I change to cmyk in photoshop and place in my indesign document. I upload a pdf that is print ready. The colors in my original art are spectacular.

Pantone CMYK uncoated in the color library in Photoshop for accuracy because the key is to not have your colors change no matter if its in rgb or CMYK.

Late to the video, but it would have gotten way more views if you had given out the portal glyph coordinates to the planet in the video.

The only question I have is about the file format. The company’s are asking for PNG or JPEG. My understanding is that JPEG degrades as you can’t save CMYK to PNG. Now what?

Love your presentation style, as well as your awesome designs, so you just got a new sub!😊 This is an older video so I’m not sure that I’ll get a reply, but I’ll ask anyway… Seems like you do your own printing for your designs, and also sell the files for your designs on Etsy, so I just want to make sure I’m understanding whether this advice would be apples to apples, for someone using a POD company like Printify? The POD companies I’ve looked at all want the designs uploaded in RGB, not CMYK. So am I understanding correctly that I should design in CMYK (in Illustrator) and then convert them to RGB before uploading them to the POD companies? The reason being that every CMYK color exists within RGB, but not every RGB color exists within CMYK. Therefore, if I design in CMYK, my designs should appear as intended when printed because the color will exist within RGB file I uploaded? I totally understand if I don’t get a reply on an older video, I’ll still be a sub, and the like is yours to keep😉😂

Great explanation regarding RGB and CMYK. Here's a tip: If you're using a RGB colour profile (in Photoshop) use the Pantone + CMYK palette under Colour Libraries for a more exact colour match from RPG to CMYK. Clicking the exclamation mark for the closest CMYK colour gives you more washed out colours.

Hello, i have a question about the CMYK, first here is what I am doing...I am creating AI Art to sell as a instant download file to print their own where they want to print it. the colors in AI are popping like crazy, Is there any possible way to convert the color in photoshop to where it will not cause a mess of the colors? if i am understanding you correctly, you said converting it wont work? I am asking because when i create labels and take them to my print guy, he says he will convert them for me to CMYK , I was pretty disappointed when i sent off for a sample of some art (printify) i did on a coffee mug and the colors were not as bright as they were on my screen and i have a RGB calibrated monitor. I think the other thing i am confused about is, do all print places even Walmart, Costco ect... take the CMYK? i see allot ask for RGB. sorry so long, I hope I made sense lol Thank you for your video :)

If I take an RGB JPG, then put it into a cMYK project and export it as a cMYK JPG, will the colors on screen for the the new cMYK JPG file represent the print?

How do you deal with not being able to have pngs in cmyk. If you want to print an image on a shirt that is a shape without a background you need a png right? And a png can only be in rgb as far as I know. I don't understand how to make a design with no background in cmyk. I must be missing something.
